Aiming Device for Dynamic Hip Screws, Adjustable

The DHS aiming device sets the guide wire at the angle that matches your hip plate. It rests on the lateral femur and directs the wire up into the femoral head.

Angle settings

The device adjusts across the common plate angles of 135, 140, 145 and 150 degrees. Therefore one guide serves several plate options. Set it to match the plate before drilling.

How it works

The surgeon places the device against the side of the femur. Then the guide wire passes through it at the set angle. As a result, the wire lines up with the barrel of the plate.

Who uses the DHS aiming device

Trauma surgeons use it during hip fracture fixation. It also helps in some femoral osteotomy procedures. Furthermore, it belongs on every DHS tray.
