Description
Yasargil Suction Tube
The Yasargil suction tube removes blood and irrigation fluid during microneurosurgery. Surgeons also use the tip to hold tissue back gently, so it doubles as a small retractor.
Suction under the microscope
A clear field is essential when the surgeon works under magnification. Therefore, the suction stays in the non-dominant hand for much of the case. The Yasargil pattern lets that hand work while keeping its line of sight open.
Sixteen options
We offer four lengths: 13, 15, 18 and 22 cm. Each length comes in four diameters: 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.5 mm. That gives sixteen combinations, so you can match reach and flow to the case.
Choosing a diameter
A 1.5 mm tube gives gentle suction near delicate tissue. In contrast, a 3.5 mm tube removes fluid quickly during heavier bleeding. The 2.0 and 2.5 mm tubes sit between them and cover most routine work.
Building a set
Many surgeons keep a fine and a medium tube in their preferred length. Then they add a larger bore for emergencies. If you work at different depths, consider two lengths as well. We can help you plan.
Caring for your Yasargil suction tube
Flush the tube with water straight after surgery, before blood clots inside. Then push a correctly sized lumen brush through the Yasargil tube. Rinse again, dry the inside completely and sterilize it.

Ordering the Yasargil suction tube
Our three-year warranty extends to every tube with a flaw in workmanship. Staff in Atlanta check the lumen by hand before shipping. The FAQ hub explains how to order several sizes. We name ASTM F899 as the steel standard behind suction tubes and other instruments. For a different pattern, look at the Frazier suction tube. More options appear in the neurosurgery section.
Suction tubes ship to professional users. Our care page describes lumen cleaning tips, photo differences and nickel in steel; to return a tube, follow the returns guide.
