Description
Yancoskie Retractor 6 Prongs Blade Width
The Yancoskie retractor holds a wide scalp flap open in coronal and brow lift surgery. Six sharp prongs spread across a 150 mm blade, so the whole flap edge lifts evenly.
Wide blade, six prongs
The 150 mm width matches the long coronal incision. Consequently, one retractor can hold most of the flap. Meanwhile, six prongs share the pull, so no single point tears.
Size of the Yancoskie retractor
It measures 18 cm overall. That length lets the assistant stand clear of the field. In addition, the handle gives good leverage on the heavy scalp.
Typical procedures
Open coronal brow lifts use it most. It also helps in craniofacial access and forehead reconstruction. For example, it holds the scalp back while the surgeon frees the brow.
Sharp prongs on a scalp flap
Scalp tissue is thick and tough. Sharp prongs therefore grip it with less force. However, they should sit under the galea, not in the skin surface.
Pairing on the tray
A coronal lift rake and blade retractors often work beside it. Together they open the whole forehead. Then the surgeon works with both hands free.

Aftercare and help
This retractor includes full cover running three years against manufacturing defects beyond our checks. An Atlanta colleague goes over the retractor closely before dispatch. The customer FAQ handles common order questions. It pairs well with the coronal lift rake. For details on the steel in surgical tools, review ASTM F899.
