Wullstein Micro Ear Scissors

Wullstein micro ear scissors are fine scissors for middle ear surgery. Otologists use them to cut soft tissue, grafts and small membranes through the ear canal.

Scissors for microsurgery

Ear surgery happens through a narrow canal, so a normal scissor cannot fit. Instead, this pattern places small blades at the end of a slender shaft. The shaft measures about 8 cm in the catalog.

Four cutting directions

You can choose Straight, Upward, Right or Left. Each direction angles the blades toward a different part of the field. For instance, the Upward model helps when tissue sits above the shaft line.

Typical tasks

Surgeons reach for these scissors during tympanoplasty and other middle ear procedures. They also trim fascia or perichondrium grafts to size. Because the blades are small, they cut with little disturbance to nearby tissue.

Setting up a full set

Many otology trays hold a straight pair plus at least one angled pair. Then the surgeon can cut in most directions without changing position. If you order a Right model, consider the Left too so you have both sides.

Caring for your Wullstein scissors

Keep the blades closed and apart from heavier tools while cleaning. Rinse them soon after surgery and brush the hinge gently. Also check that the blades meet cleanly, then dry and sterilize them in a protective holder.
