Tyding Tonsil Snare

The Tyding tonsil snare is a wire snare for tonsillectomy. Surgeons use it to cut through the pedicle at the lower pole of the tonsil once the dissection nears the end.

How the snare works

First, the wire loop passes over the tonsil and around its base. Then a squeeze tightens the Tyding loop, which cuts through the tissue. As a result, the tonsil comes free.
