Description
Thorek Dissecting Scissors
Thorek scissors have angled blades for dissecting in deep fields. The range covers a standard 19 cm pair and three tungsten carbide lengths.
Standard 19 cm
The 19 cm standard pair suits deep abdominal and chest work. Also, the angled blades reach around structures.
Tungsten carbide sizes
The Metzenbaum-Thorek tungsten carbide pairs come in 20, 23 and 28 cm. So they extend the range deeper.
Fine blades
The narrow blades suit delicate tissue. Therefore they work close to vessels.
Using the angle
Hold the scissors so the angle follows the plane you are opening. Then cut in short strokes with the tips in view. Because the blades sit off-axis, check your line before each cut. As a result, you keep control deep in the field.
Reprocessing Thorek scissors
Handle the long blades with care. Clean and dry them fully after each case, then store them flat.
