Description
Table Post for Martin Arm
This Martin arm table post mounts the Martin holding arm to the OR table. It is a single component of the Martin system.
Role in the system
The post forms the base of the whole setup. So every other part depends on a firm hold at the table. Then the arm and rod build out from this anchor toward the surgical field.
Replacing or adding a post
Teams often buy a spare post to replace a worn one. Alternatively, a second post lets you equip another OR table. That way, the arm can move between rooms without extra setup.
Mounting
First, fix the post to the OR table before draping. Then fit the jointed arm and tighten it until nothing wobbles. Next, add the holding rod or endoscope part.
What else you need
A post alone does not hold anything. Instead, pair it with the arm with joint and the holding rod. Also, the complete set includes a Martin arm table post, so check before you double up.
Cleaning Martin arm table post
Wipe the post down after each case, even if it stayed outside the drapes. Then clean the clamp area with a brush and warm water. Finally, dry it and store it on a shelf away from delicate tools.
