Struempel ear polypus forceps are fine grasping forceps for otology. ENT surgeons use them to take hold of polyps, granulation tissue and small foreign bodies inside the ear canal.

Built for a narrow canal

The ear canal leaves little room for an instrument and a line of sight together. So polypus forceps keep their jaws small and their working part slim. The surgeon can then grasp tissue while still seeing the target.

Typical uses

Chronic ear infections sometimes leave polyps or granulation tissue in the canal. In that case, a surgeon may grasp and remove the tissue for treatment or biopsy. The forceps also help lift out small objects and debris.
