Description
Spatula
The steel spatula mixes and spreads pastes, creams and powders. Its flat blade picks up material cleanly and smooths it onto a surface or dressing.
Two steel spatula lengths
We offer 18 cm and 20 cm. The shorter one suits small batches. Meanwhile, the longer one reaches into deeper jars.
Why a steel spatula
Steel does not absorb material. Consequently, nothing carries over from one batch to the next. It also tolerates many cleaning cycles.
Typical uses
Clinics use it for mixing ointments and dressings. In addition, pharmacies and labs use it for weighing and transferring powders. It also suits plaster rooms.
Technique
Scoop material with the flat of the blade. Then spread with light, even strokes. Also, wipe the blade between materials.
Choosing a length
Match the length to your containers. For example, tall jars need 20 cm. However, flat dishes work fine with 18 cm.
Mixing technique
First, place the powder on a clean slab. Next, add the liquid a little at a time. After that, fold the mix with the flat of the blade until it looks smooth. In short, slow folding avoids lumps and air bubbles.
