Description
Sinus Retractor
A lateral sinus lift needs a wide, steady view of the window. This sinus retractor holds the reflected buccal flap up and away, so the bur, the membrane elevators and the graft all have room. It is one instrument with no size options.
Holding the Flap Above the Window
Once the full-thickness flap is raised, it tends to fall back over the bone. The retractor rests against the periosteal side of the flap. Consequently, the assistant can hold the tissue clear while you outline and open the window. A firm, still hold also keeps the flap away from a spinning bur.
Working Height in the Posterior Maxilla
Sinus sites sit high and far back, near the zygomatic buttress. Therefore, a retractor here must reach upward and keep the cheek stretched without blocking the light. Compare the blade outline in the photos with the access you usually need. If your patients tend to have a tight vestibule, a narrow profile is the one to look for.
Stages Where It Earns Its Keep
First, it holds the flap while the window is cut. Next, it keeps the view open as the membrane is lifted from the sinus floor. Finally, it stays in place while graft is packed and a membrane is laid over the window. For this reason, the same retractor often stays in the assistant’s hand for most of the procedure.
Inspection, Sterility and Guarantee
Our U.S. team in Atlanta checks each sinus retractor for a smooth blade and clean edges before sending it out. Because it comes without sterile packaging, decontaminate and autoclave it before surgery. In addition, a defect from production is honoured under a sinus retractor warranty of three years against manufacturing defects, which covers flawed steel or a poorly finished blade.
Material: surgical stainless steel to ASTM F899. See the wider retractor collection, and pair this one with our sinus membrane elevators for the lift itself. General questions are covered under FAQs.
Meant for trained implant and oral surgery professionals. Before first use, see sterilization guidance and our shipping page.
