Samii tumor grasping forceps hold and remove tumor and tissue during neurosurgery. Their bayonet shape keeps the hand out of the microscope’s line of sight.

Why a bayonet shape

Under the microscope, a straight instrument blocks the view. Therefore the offset of the bayonet shifts the surgeon’s grip sideways. Meanwhile, the tips stay aligned with the target.

Options

We list these forceps at 23 cm with a curved working end. You can choose a left or right curve. Also, each side comes with 3, 4 or 5 mm jaws, giving six options.

Use in tumor surgery

Surgeons grasp tumor tissue with the jaws and then pull it free or hold it for cutting. For example, they may steady a piece while a tumor knife separates it. The curve helps them reach around corners.

Choosing side and size

First, consider which side you usually approach from. Next, pick jaw sizes: 3 mm for fine work, 5 mm for larger pieces. Many surgeons stock both sides in one or two sizes.
