Description
Round Bowls (General)
The round bowl holds small volumes of solution, swabs or instruments. It is a basic item that every trolley needs.
Fourteen sizes
The smallest is 40 x 20 mm and the largest 180 x 85 mm. Each listing gives width before depth in millimetres. Notice that several widths come in both a shallow and a deep form.
Shallow or deep
Shallow bowls suit swabs and small instruments. By contrast, deep bowls hold more fluid without spilling. So many sites stock both shapes.
Why a steel round bowl
Steel lasts through countless sterilising cycles. In addition, it does not crack or stain. Furthermore, it stacks neatly.
Where it is used
Nurses use it for dressings and prep. Theatres use it for small volumes of saline. Labs and dental surgeries also keep them.
Practical tips
Pick a bowl just larger than the volume you need. Moreover, that reduces spills. Also, keep a few spare sizes on hand.
