The Rosen micro ear needle is a slim pointed instrument for otology. Under the microscope, surgeons feel structures with it and ease tissue into place.

Straight or angled shaft

Despite the product name, we offer two shaft styles: straight and angled. An angled shaft keeps the hand out of the microscope view. A straight shaft, however, gives a simple, direct feel.

Uses in surgery

Otologists use Rosen needles in stapes and tympanoplasty procedures. For instance, they may free a flap edge, move a graft or check a joint in the ossicular chain. The needle also helps release small adhesions.

Choosing a shaft

If you operate mostly through a microscope with a narrow speculum, the angled shaft often helps. Otherwise, the straight shaft may feel more natural. Many surgeons therefore keep both.

Protect the point during cleaning, since fine tips bend. Then rinse, dry and store the needle with a tip protector. Sterilize it in a micro instrument rack.
