Description
Plester Micro Dissector
The Plester micro dissector is a fine instrument for ear microsurgery. Surgeons use it to dissect delicate tissue and to raise skin flaps in the ear canal.
Fine dissection in the ear
The skin of the ear canal is thin and tears easily. So a dissector must separate tissue with gentle, controlled movements. This pattern gives the surgeon a small, precise working end for that job.
Size information
We do not currently publish a length or tip size for this dissector. So if you must match an existing set, send us a note first. We will then confirm the details.
Clinical role
During tympanoplasty, the surgeon often raises a flap of canal skin and eardrum. Then they can reach the middle ear beneath it and work on the ossicles or the graft bed. A micro dissector helps separate that flap from the bone while keeping it intact.
Completing the set
Dissectors work best as part of a small group. Also consider micro knives for the first incision and fine suction to keep the field dry. We stock several patterns, so we can suggest a combination.
Caring for your Plester micro dissector
Clean the tip gently straight after surgery. Next, rinse it and dry it carefully, especially around the working end. Store and sterilize it in a rack so nothing presses on the tip.
