Description
Petri Dish
The steel petri dish holds small items, samples or instruments. Unlike glass, it does not break, and it stands up to repeated sterilising.
Three options
You can order the dish with its lid, the dish alone or the lid only. Also, the full set measures 100 x 20 mm. Meanwhile, the base alone measures 96 x 20 mm.
Why choose a steel petri dish
Steel does not shatter if dropped. In addition, it handles heat sterilisation easily. As a result, it suits busy labs and clinics.
Typical uses
Labs hold samples and small parts in it. For example, clinics use it for small instruments during procedures. It also suits teaching labs.
Using the lid
The lid keeps contents covered and clean. Place it squarely so it seats on the rim. Also, lift it straight up to avoid spills.
Replacing parts
Lids and bases can go missing. Therefore, we sell the lid separately. That keeps your set complete.
Stacking
Lidded dishes stack neatly on a shelf. Consequently, storage stays tidy. Stack only clean, dry dishes.
Steel petri dish options

- Without lid, 96 x 20 mm
- Lid only
Care
Wash the dish and lid after use. Rinse and dry. Then sterilise them together.
When you buy
A staff member in Atlanta looks over this dish by hand ahead of shipping. Lid, base or the full pair, each carries three years against manufacturing defects. The FDA lists ASTM F899 for instrument alloys. Related pieces sit in the general surgical collection. A second dish on the shelf avoids delays. For a next step, look at our sterilizing box.
