Description
Parallel Aiming Device For Guide
The parallel aiming device places guide wires parallel to one another. Surgeons use it when two or three cannulated screws must run side by side.
Why parallel matters
When screws converge or diverge, they lose some of their compressive effect. Therefore surgeons aim to place them parallel. This device makes that easier.
How it works
The first wire goes in under imaging. Then the device slides over it, and further wires pass through its parallel holes. As a result, all wires line up.
Who uses a parallel aiming device
Trauma surgeons use it for femoral neck fractures with cannulated screws. Also, it helps in other multi-screw fixation. It is part of many cannulated sets.
Size
The device is listed for 2 mm guide wires. Consequently, check that your wires match. Additionally, we can confirm compatibility.
Checking the pattern
After placing all wires, check their spread on imaging. Then measure and insert screws. Adjust if any wire sits poorly.
