Neivert Retractor

The Neivert retractor holds back soft tissue in nasal surgery. Rhinoplasty surgeons use it to open the nostril and expose the structures inside.

Retracting the nostril

The blade lifts the alar rim or nasal skin. As a result, the surgeon sees the cartilage and lining. The assistant then holds the view steady while the surgeon cuts or sutures.

A 15 cm length

We list this nasal retractor at 15 cm. Such a length suits an assistant’s grip well. Also, it keeps the hand clear of the surgeon’s line of sight throughout the case.

In nasal surgery

Surgeons often use it alongside hooks, elevators and scissors. For example, a hook may lift the tip while this retractor holds the ala. Then the surgeon works inside the nose with both hands.

Caring for your Neivert retractor

Rinse the blade soon after the case. Next, wipe and brush both faces until they look clean. Allow the retractor to dry in open air, then sterilize it.
