Description
Mini-Lexer Gouge Handle From Artificial Wood
The Mini-Lexer gouge places a small hollow blade on a rounded handle of artificial wood. Therefore fine scooping work becomes easier to control.
Grip and feel
The full handle fills the hand, even with wet gloves. So the surgeon can guide the tip with small wrist moves. A light mallet can still drive it when bone is firm.
Five sizes
Widths run 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm. A 4 mm tip clears a narrow canal. The 12 mm tip, on the other hand, opens a broader hollow.
When to use the Mini-Lexer gouge
Use it to harvest small grafts, clear cysts and shape sockets in small bones. For example, hand and foot surgeons use it to prepare a fusion site. Besides, its matching osteotome makes the first cut.
Gentle technique
Use light hand pressure first, since small bones give way quickly. If the bone resists, add gentle taps with a small mallet. Then check depth often, especially near joints and tendons.
