The Martin-Simplex lip and cheek retractor is a short hand retractor for the front of the mouth. Dental and oral surgery teams use it to hold the lip and cheek back.

Simple retraction

The blade sits inside the lip and pulls it outward. Consequently, the teeth and gums become easier to see and reach. The operator also avoids nicking the lip with instruments.
