Description
Mallet (Ferrozell,Solid)
This solid Ferrozell mallet has a light head made from a laminated synthetic material. It strikes softly, so it protects instrument handles and reduces noise.
A softer strike
A synthetic head gives a little on impact. Therefore it spreads the force and avoids marking steel handles. Even so, it still moves a fine chisel through thin bone.
Size and weight
It is 18 cm long with a 30 mm head. The whole mallet weighs about 125 g. That makes it one of the lighter options in our range.
Uses for a solid Ferrozell mallet
Hand, oral and facial surgeons use it with fine blades. It also suits pediatric cases. Teams that want quieter theaters often prefer a synthetic head.
Light work only
Because the head is light, it is not the right tool for heavy impaction. In that case, choose a steel or lead-filled mallet. However, for delicate bone work, this one feels just right.
A quiet theater
Steel-on-steel strikes ring loudly in a small room. By contrast, a synthetic head gives a dull, short sound. Consequently, the team can talk more easily during long chisel work.
