Description
Maliniac Fiber Optic Retractor With light Guide Blades 9x45mm
The Maliniac fiber optic retractor combines a slim blade with a built-in light guide. It lights and holds small, deep spaces where an overhead lamp cannot reach.
Blade and length
The blade measures 9 x 45 mm on a 10 cm instrument. As a result, it fits through short incisions. Meanwhile, the light runs right to the blade tip.
Why a lit Maliniac fiber optic retractor
Small tunnels fall into shadow quickly. Therefore, light at the tip shows the tissue clearly. In addition, the surgeon does not need to adjust a headlight.
Typical procedures
Facial plastic surgery and small endoscopic-style approaches use it. For example, it lights the space under a brow or cheek flap. It also helps in nasal work.
Connecting the light
The light guide connects to a light cable from your light source. Then the light passes along the blade. Also, check the connection before the patient arrives.
Handling
Insert the blade gently with the light switched on. Next, lift slightly and look along the blade. Finally, reposition rather than pressing harder.
Small blade, strong light
A compact blade usually leaves little room for a lamp beam. However, this design brings its own light inside the space. As a result, the 9 mm blade works where wider lit tools will not fit.

Care of the optics
Scratches dim the light guide faces, so clean them only with a lint-free swab. Wash and rinse the blade by hand. Finally, sterilise it in a tray with a silicone mat.
The pledge on the retractor
Our cover on this lit Maliniac blade lasts three years against manufacturing defects, light guide included. Before shipment, our Atlanta crew looks over each retractor closely. The FDA lists ASTM F899 for instrument alloys. If you have a question, scan the help page. We also help with sizing for your clinic. Scan the full general surgery lineup to finish the tray. Often bought with it is our lit face-lift blade.
