Luer Trachea Tubes, Nickel Silver
The Luer trachea tube is a traditional metal tracheostomy tube. Clinicians insert it through a tracheostomy opening, and this version comes in nickel silver, the alloy the product name refers to.
About the material
Nickel silver is a nickel alloy, so it is not stainless steel. Despite the name, it contains no silver. We state this plainly because material matters for reprocessing and for anyone sensitive to nickel.
Ten sizes to choose from
We offer ten tube sizes between 4 mm and 13 mm. Therefore, one pattern can serve a wide range of patients. Your clinical team should still choose the size for each patient, since fit depends on individual anatomy.
The Luer pattern
Luer tubes belong to the older family of metal tracheostomy tubes. Some ENT departments keep them for teams that know the pattern well. In addition, they appear in teaching collections that show how tube design has developed.

Caring for your Luer trachea tube
Clean the tube promptly after use, following your unit’s protocol for reusable airway devices. Also brush the inside of the lumen and rinse it well. Then dry it completely before sterilization and storage.
