Description
LiftTrace™ Panola Periosteal Elevator
The LiftTrace Panola periosteal elevator is a modified Crego pattern made to the specification of a practising orthopedic surgeon in metro Atlanta. It keeps the long reach of the classic Crego. However, it adds a deeper blade curve and a thick, high-friction handle for control under load.
What we changed from a standard Crego
The blade rises 17.5 mm off the shank axis over its 4.5 cm length. That curve lets the edge follow bone around a convex surface instead of digging in. Meanwhile, the 21 mm handle has a rougher texture than usual, so a gloved hand keeps its purchase when the field is wet.
Two blade widths
Choose the 0.5 in (12.7 mm) blade for broad stripping and wider exposure. Alternatively, choose the 0.2 in (5.1 mm) blade for narrow work and tighter spaces. Apart from the width, the two sizes are identical, so they handle the same in the hand.
Using the LiftTrace Panola periosteal elevator
Seat the sharp edge against bone beneath the periosteum. Then push along the bone surface with the curve facing it, letting the blade lift the soft tissue in one layer. Use the long handle for leverage and keep the edge on bone throughout.
The curve is specified
Because the curve is what makes this elevator work, it is defined precisely. The acceptance check for the blade rise is 17.5 ± 0.5 mm, measured with the shank flat on a surface plate.

Support from Intrace USA
We back both Panola widths for three years against manufacturing defects, and our Atlanta team hand-checks them before shipping. Questions about autoclaving go to our FAQs; ASTM F899 is the reference for surgical stainless steels.
