Description
Landolt-Reulen Curette Rigid
The Landolt-Reulen curette is a rigid transsphenoidal curette with a 2.5 mm tip. Surgeons use it to scrape and remove pituitary tumor tissue with firm, direct control.
Rigid for control
Malleable curettes bend to fit the anatomy. In contrast, a rigid curette keeps its shape and passes force straight to the tip. Therefore it suits firmer tissue and precise scraping along the sellar floor.
Size
We offer this curette at 25 cm long with a 2.5 mm tip. The length gives good reach through the nasal corridor. Meanwhile, the small tip lets the surgeon work in tight spaces.
Uses in the sella
Surgeons often switch between rigid and malleable tools during a pituitary case. For example, the curette might clear the central part of a tumor, and then a bent curette may reach the lateral recesses.
Completing the rigid line
The Landolt-Reulen line also includes a rigid hook, dissector and raspatory. So many teams order the set together for consistent length and feel. Ask us if you want a combined quote on those pieces.
Caring for your Landolt-Reulen curette
Clear the cup of tissue as soon as possible after use. Then brush it with a small brush and rinse the shaft. Finally, dry it and sterilize it with the other transsphenoidal tools.

How to buy the Landolt-Reulen curette
We cover the curette with a three-year warranty wherever the workmanship turns out defective. Before dispatch, a colleague in Atlanta inspects it by hand and signs off the order. See our FAQ collection page for common questions. We reference ASTM F899 for the stainless steels in surgical instruments. A matching piece is the Landolt-Reulen rigid dissector. Browse our neurosurgery product section too.
Professional use only. A short piece in our care library explains stock images and nickel in stainless steel, and the shipping overview explains dispatch.
