Landolt Enucleator, Malleable

The Landolt malleable enucleator helps a surgeon separate and remove pituitary tumor tissue through the transsphenoidal route. Because the shaft bends, the surgeon can shape it to each patient’s anatomy.

Bend it to fit

Every sella is a little different. So a malleable enucleator gives the surgeon freedom to set the curve before or during the case. As a result, the tip can reach toward the lateral walls and the upper parts of the sella.

Four versions

All versions measure 25 cm. First, choose left or right, depending on the side you want to reach. Next, decide between a blunt tip that separates softly and a sharp tip that handles tougher tissue. That gives four combinations of the Landolt malleable enucleator.

Working with other Landolt tools

Enucleators usually free the tumor, while curettes and scoops remove it. For instance, the surgeon may loosen the adenoma along one wall with the enucleator and then lift it out with a scoop. Suction keeps the view clear.

Which versions to order

Caring for your Landolt malleable enucleator

Clean the tip and shaft soon after use. Also, handle the malleable shaft gently, and avoid repeated bending at one spot. Then dry it and sterilize it on a flat tray.
