Kristeller Vaginal Speculum

The Kristeller vaginal speculum is the posterior blade of a two-piece system. It pairs with the Kristeller retractor, which lifts the anterior wall.

Eleven sizes

Lengths start at 70 mm and run to 110 mm. Meanwhile, widths range from 18 mm on the narrowest to 36 mm on the widest. So you can fit the blade closely to the patient.

We list 70×27, 80×30, 90×36, 105×18, 105×21, 105×26, 105×28, 105×33, 110×27, 110×30 and 110×36 mm. Also, each length comes in Fig 1 to Fig 3. Therefore, the 105 mm length offers the most width choices.

How the pair works

This blade presses the back wall down while its partner raises the front wall. Then the surgeon sees the cervix between them. However, order the retractor separately or choose the matched set.

Replacing one blade

Order a single Kristeller vaginal speculum to replace one worn blade. Alternatively, the set bundles speculum and retractor in matching sizes. Plus, singles let you add extra widths to an existing tray.

Reprocessing Kristeller vaginal speculum

Check the blade edge for dents before each wash. Next, clean both faces with warm detergent and a soft brush. Once rinsed, dry the blade and file it by size so matching goes quickly.
