Description
Kogan Endospecula
The Kogan endospeculum opens the endocervical canal during colposcopy. That way, the clinician can see the transformation zone when it sits inside the canal.
Kogan endospeculum: purpose at colposcopy
Sometimes the transformation zone lies partly inside the cervical canal. In that case, a standard speculum alone cannot show it fully. So this instrument gently spreads the canal to bring that area into view.
With or without a scale
A scale gives a visual reference while the canal opens. However, some clinicians prefer the plain version for a simpler view. Therefore, choose the option that matches your colposcopy routine.
3 mm or 7 mm
The site lists 3 mm and 7 mm options alongside the scale choice. So confirm the option that matches your existing instruments before you order. Also, our team can help if you feel unsure which one you need.
Where it fits
Colposcopy clinics keep a Kogan endospeculum beside the bivalve speculum for difficult views. Then, if the canal view stays incomplete, it comes into use. Plus, its 24 cm length keeps the hand outside the line of sight.
Cleaning Kogan endospeculum
Clean the tips gently, because fine ends bend under heavy pressure. Next, rinse and dry the instrument, paying attention to every crevice. Then store it separately so heavier instruments cannot press on it.
