Description
Kevorkian Biopsy Curette
The Kevorkian curette samples tissue from the endocervical canal. Gynecologists often use it for endocervical curettage during colposcopy.
Fig 1 or Fig 2
We offer this curette in two figure patterns. So you can match the version your department already stocks on its colposcopy trays. If you have doubts about which one you need, send us a photo of your current one.
A 30 cm reach
Both figures measure 30 cm overall, the longest of our biopsy curettes. That length reaches the canal comfortably through a speculum during colposcopy. Meanwhile, your hand stays clear of the viewing field.
Endocervical sampling
Endocervical curettage collects cells and tissue from inside the canal. Then the lab reviews the scrapings for changes a punch biopsy might miss. Also, many clinicians pair it with a cervical punch sample.
Stocking both figures
Some teams keep one of each figure because different clinicians have different preferences. Alternatively, standardize on one Kevorkian curette pattern to simplify your trays. Either way, the 30 cm length stays the same across both figures.
Cleaning Kevorkian curette
Scrape residue from the tip with a soft nylon brush right after use. Then soak the instrument in enzymatic solution for the time the maker of the solution advises, and rinse. Store it tip-protected in a dry place so the sampling edge stays sharp.
