Joseph Rasp
The Joseph rasp is a short nasal bone rasp. In rhinoplasty, surgeons rely on it to lower a dorsal hump and to smooth bone edges on the bridge.
A classic design
Jacques Joseph set out many of the steps of modern rhinoplasty. Instruments carrying his name remain common on nasal trays. This short rasp continues that line, because simple bone rasping still plays a central role.
Compact at 15 cm
We offer this rasp at 15 cm. The short body gives close control, which suits fine adjustments near the bridge. However, if you need more reach, a longer rasp may suit you better.
During hump reduction
First, the surgeon lifts the soft tissue off the bridge. Then the rasp removes bone gradually while the surgeon checks the profile. Finally, gentle strokes smooth any remaining edges.
Matching it to your set
If your tray already has long rasps, a short model adds precision. Also consider a skin hook from the same series for lifting the flap. We can measure the blade for you on request.
Caring for your Joseph rasp
Remove bone dust from the teeth as soon as possible after surgery. Next, scrub with a firm brush and rinse well. Then dry it completely and sterilize.
