Description
Horizontal Bar
This retractor horizontal bar is a component for a table-mounted retractor system, not a complete retractor. It comes in a flexible or a non-flexible version.
Retractor horizontal bar: what the bar does
In a table-mounted setup, the bar spans the field so other parts can attach along it. Because the table carries the load, nobody needs to hold retraction by hand. So the bar forms part of the frame that keeps blades steady.
Flexible version
The flexible version gives some play when you set up around the patient. That way, you can adjust the line of the frame to the incision. Also, it helps where a fixed line would get in the way.
Non-flexible version
By contrast, the non-flexible bar holds a fixed line. As a result, it offers a firm base for heavier retraction. So choose it when stability matters more than shape.
Fitting it to your system
Check that the bar matches the post and clamps you already use. If you are unsure, send us your current setup and we will confirm the fit. Then order the retractor horizontal bar in the version you need.
Cleaning retractor horizontal bar
Take the bar off the post after each case and wipe away any blood. Next, clean the clamp points with a soft brush. Finally, dry it fully and store it flat so it keeps its line.
