This Franz retractor blade serves as a replacement part for the Franz self-retaining frame retractor. The frame measures 300 x 300 mm, and this listing covers the blade alone.

Five sizes

Choose from 38 x 60, 45 x 80, 50 x 65, 60 x 85, 98 x 50 or 105 x 35 mm. The smaller sizes suit shallow work near the skin. By contrast, the 105 x 35 mm size offers the longest dimension of the range.

A wide frame

Measuring 300 x 300 mm, the Franz frame surrounds a wide operating field. So it can carry blades on several sides at once. Then each blade holds its own section of the wound.

Mixing sizes

You do not need matching blades on every side. Instead, fit a deeper blade where the tissue runs thick. Likewise, a shallower one can sit where less depth will do.

Component only

No frame comes with this order. However, the blade gives an existing Franz set new life when one wears or goes missing. Also, a spare Franz retractor blade avoids delays on busy days.

Reprocessing Franz retractor blade

Remove every blade from the frame at the end of the case. Then soak and brush the blades, since dried fluid clings to their faces. Also, inspect each one for bends before it returns to the set.
