Description
Fingertip Retractor
Retraction is often the longest task in an implant case, and it falls on the assistant’s hand. The fingertip retractor is shaped to make that job lighter. The supplier catalogue describes it as ergonomically designed to reduce hand fatigue. So it suits procedures where the field must stay open for a long stretch.
Why Fingertip Control Helps
A long-handled retractor is held at a distance, which magnifies small wobbles. By contrast, a fingertip design keeps the control point close to the tissue. As a result, the assistant can make fine adjustments with less effort. Also, the hand sits closer to the face, which leaves more room for the surgeon.
Typical Uses in Implant Surgery
The retractor can hold the lip during anterior placements or keep the cheek clear in premolar sites. In addition, it can protect a reflected flap while the surgeon drills. Each operator decides on placement and pressure, according to the case.
One Size, Shown in the Photos
This page lists a single catalogue pattern, and the catalogue gives no further dimensions. Therefore, please review the photos for blade width and finger position before ordering. When a case needs a different shape, our retractor category offers broader and longer designs.
Material, Inspection and Warranty
The fingertip retractor is surgical stainless steel. Before it ships, our staff in the United States check its finish and edges. Out of the box it is not sterile; wash it, inspect it and sterilize it as part of your normal retractor reprocessing. Should the blade or bend ever fail through a production fault, the fingertip retractor has three years against manufacturing defects to cover it.
The relevant steel standard is ASTM F899. Look through our surgical retractors, add a two-ended dog bone retractor for wider fields, or see our FAQs.
