Description
Eicken-Killian Wash Cannula
The Eicken-Killian wash cannula is a curved cannula for sinus irrigation. ENT surgeons use it to rinse the maxillary sinus and wash out mucus or debris.
Why irrigation helps
A rinse clears secretions and gives the surgeon a better view. Also, it can wash out the sinus after a procedure. The curved tip helps direct fluid into the opening, so less of it runs back unused.
A 15 cm curved cannula
We list this cannula at 15 cm with a curve near the tip. The shorter length gives good control in the nose. Therefore it suits routine washouts in clinic or in theater.
Working with a syringe
The clinician usually connects the cannula to a syringe. Then they flush gently and watch the return. Meanwhile, the patient leans forward over a basin, or suction clears the fluid.
Short or long
If you need more reach, a longer curved cannula may suit you better. For example, the Guilen pattern measures 20 cm. Contact us if you want advice on which one fits your routine.
Caring for your Eicken-Killian wash cannula
Flush the lumen right after use so nothing dries inside. Next, pass a fine wire through the channel twice. After a final rinse, dry the inside with air and then sterilize the cannula.
