Description
Dingmann Mod Cartilage Forceps
Dingmann Mod cartilage forceps are a modified version of the Dingmann cartilage grasper. They hold cartilage steady during shaping and grafting.
What the modification changes
The standard Dingmann design suits general cartilage holding. Meanwhile, this modified version adapts the jaws for a slightly different grip. Some surgeons find it holds thin cartilage better.
Length and feel
At 18 cm, the forceps balance well in the hand. Therefore fine movements at the jaws stay easy. The handles give enough leverage for firm cartilage.
Who uses Dingmann Mod cartilage forceps
Plastic surgeons use them in ear and nose reconstruction. Also, orthopedic teams use them during joint surface work. They suit graft preparation on a side table too.
Choosing between Dingmann versions
If you already use the standard Dingmann, try the modified version for thin grafts. However, for thick rib cartilage, the standard pattern may grip better. Many surgeons keep both.
Gentle handling
Always grip the edge of a graft rather than its center. Consequently, the visible surface stays unmarked. That detail matters in facial reconstruction.

Before you order
Our team in Atlanta checks this forceps with care prior to packing. If the Dingmann Mod pattern develops a factory flaw, we honor three years against manufacturing defects. One extra forceps on standby saves a cancelled case. Matching patterns appear in our orthopedic department. We readily suggest an option on request. A close relative is the standard Dingmann pattern. The buyer FAQ explains the ordering steps. For facts on instrument steels, read ASTM F899.
