Description
Dale Bone Rongeur Forceps
The Dale bone rongeur is a long instrument for removing bone and tissue deep in a wound. Two bite widths are available.
Long reach
A long body lets the jaws reach deep targets while the hand stays outside the wound. Therefore it suits spine and pelvic work. The spring reopens the jaws after each bite.
Two bite sizes
The 3 mm bite removes small pieces with precision. Meanwhile, the 8 mm bite clears larger amounts quickly. Many surgeons keep both.
Who uses the Dale bone rongeur
Spine surgeons clear disc material and bone. Also, deep hip and pelvic work suits it. It helps in revision cases too.
Working at depth
Guide the jaws to the target while keeping the tip in view. Then close firmly and withdraw to clear the bite. Repeat at a steady pace.
Reach with control
Long rongeurs can feel unwieldy. However, a light spring and balanced handles keep the Dale manageable. Consequently, deep work stays precise.

Dale care
Run water through the open jaws to flush out disc material. Then brush, dry and oil the hinge. Store it flat so the long body stays straight.
