Description
Czerny Tenaculum Forceps
The Czerny tenaculum grasps and steadies the cervix during gynecologic procedures. This straight model measures about 20 cm.
Steadying the cervix
A tenaculum holds the cervix in place while sounds, dilators and curettes pass. So the canal stays aligned for sounding or dilation in the next step. Also, gentle traction can straighten the uterine axis.
A compact length
At about 20 cm, this is one of our shorter tenacula. Therefore, it suits office work with a standard speculum. However, a longer pattern may help in a deep vagina.
Straight design
The straight form gives a direct line from hand to cervix. Meanwhile, it leaves room for a sound or dilator beside it within the speculum. Pick it when you want a simple, direct approach for routine office cases.
Office procedures
Clinics grasp the cervix for IUD insertion, endometrial biopsy and similar tasks. Then the Czerny tenaculum keeps it still while you work. Plus, its short size fits a compact procedure tray in a busy clinic room.
Looking after Czerny tenaculum
Check the tips after each use, since bent points can tear tissue on the next patient. Next, clean it in an ultrasonic bath and rinse thoroughly to remove all detergent. Dry it and store it with tip covers on, apart from heavier instruments.
