Craig-Dominick Septum Compression Forceps

The Craig-Dominick septum compression forceps presses a bent septum into a straighter line. Nasal surgeons choose it when they want to reshape septal cartilage and thin bone without removing them.

Sided design

This pattern comes as a right and a left version. So the surgeon can pick the one that suits the side of the nose and the direction of the deviation. Many teams keep both together as a pair.

What compression achieves

A gentle squeeze across a curved section can flatten it in place. As a result, the septum keeps more of its structure than it would after a wide resection. Cutting instruments then handle only what compression cannot correct.

Its point in a septoplasty

First, the surgeon raises the mucosal flaps on both sides. Next, the Craig-Dominick jaws grip the deviated area and press it straight. Finally, a speculum check shows whether any spur still needs trimming.

Right, left or both

Since deviations occur on either side, a single version limits you. Therefore we suggest ordering the right and left forceps together. If you only need one, tell us which side your cases favor.

Caring for the paired forceps

Rinse each Craig-Dominick straight after surgery so mucus cannot harden on the jaws. Then brush the joint with the jaws open. Dry both sides completely before they go to sterilization.
