Description
Collin Polypus And Dressing Forceps
The Collin dressing forceps hold swabs and grasp soft polyps in deep fields. At 25 cm, they suit vaginal, cervical and abdominal work, where a shorter pair would bring the hand too close to the field.
A long, steady pattern
The long shanks keep the hand well away from the wound or speculum. Therefore, the clinician can work deep while keeping a clear view of the jaws and the tissue they hold.
Uses of the Collin dressing forceps
Gynaecology teams swab the cervix and vagina with them before and after procedures. In addition, they remove soft cervical polyps and help place or retrieve vaginal packs.
Jaw design
The oval jaws hold a folded swab or a small polyp securely between their rings. Once the ratchet engages, the grip stays constant, so the hand can relax during long swabbing.
In general surgery
The same reach suits swabbing deep abdominal spaces after a bowel or pelvic procedure. As a result, many theatres keep a pair on the general tray as well as the gynaecology set.
Collin or Cheron
The Cheron offers angled jaws, whereas the Collin keeps a straight line from ring to tip. In practice, pick the Cheron for a clear view past the jaws and the Collin for a direct push.
Removing a polyp
Grasp the polyp close to its stalk and close the ratchet. Then rotate the forceps slowly until the stalk separates, and send the specimen for examination.

When you order
Each Collin pair has three years against manufacturing defects from us. Before it leaves us, an inspector in Atlanta reviews the Collin forceps by hand. Scan our whole general surgery range for extra options. To learn about medical stainless steel, see ASTM F899. Some teams add our Cheron forceps. For delivery questions, see the FAQ section. We also help with sizing by email.
Only for qualified users. The care and sterilization guide mentions image variation and nickel in the steel. Returns show on our refund terms.
