Description
Brunner-Ferrozell Conductor
The Brunner-Ferrozell conductor combines two classic patterns for passing ligatures. Its two lengths cover both shallow and very deep ligation.
Two lengths
We offer 18 cm and 27 cm. Besides, the 18 cm suits neck and superficial work. By contrast, the 27 cm reaches very deep vessels.
About the Brunner-Ferrozell conductor
The tip shape follows the Ferrozell style, while the shaft follows the Brunner style. As a result, it combines reach with a familiar curve.
Typical uses
Pelvic, abdominal and thoracic surgeons use it. For instance, the long size ligates deep pelvic vessels. Furthermore, the short size suits thyroid work.
Technique
Choose the length first, then load the ligature. Work the tip around the vessel and recover the thread on the other side.
Building a set
Many trays pair this conductor with a shorter Konig or Martin. Together they cover most depths.
Very deep ligation
Some pelvic vessels sit more than 20 cm below the skin in a large patient. In those cases, the 27 cm Brunner-Ferrozell conductor reaches the target, whereas shorter patterns fall short.
Brunner-Ferrozell conductor options
- Short 18 cm or long 27 cm
- Ferrozell-style tip
- Eye for the ligature
Care
Inspect the long shaft for bends after washing. Clear the eye, dry everything and sterilise.
The promise on each conductor
Short or long, the Brunner-Ferrozell carries three years against manufacturing defects. Any conductor passes a detailed review at our Atlanta site ahead of shipping. Some trays also hold our Ferrozell conductor. For facts on stainless alloys for surgery, read ASTM F899. Need a second opinion on sizing? Contact us before you order.
