Description
Breast Spreaders
The breast spreader opens the implant pocket once dissection has begun. Two blades part under hand control, stretching the space instead of cutting it.
Spreading instead of cutting
Blunt spreading follows tissue planes. Bleeding therefore stays low. In addition, the pocket edges stay smooth, which helps the implant settle.
Size of the breast spreader
The 23 cm body reaches the top of a pocket through a fold incision. Meanwhile, the handles stay comfortable in one hand.
When surgeons use it
It suits primary augmentation and pocket adjustment in revisions. Some surgeons also use it to check pocket size before placing sizers. Usually it follows a dissector or spatula.
Technique
Insert the closed blades along the plane. Then open them slowly and hold for a moment. Next, close, reposition and repeat until the pocket reaches the planned outline.
Pairing on the tray
A lighted retractor helps you see the pocket floor. Meanwhile, a breast dissector frees firm bands. Together they make pocket creation quicker.
