Description
Breast Spatula Working Tip
The breast spatula sweeps tissue apart to form the implant pocket. Its broad, blunt tip separates layers without sharp cutting.
Two tip widths
Both tips measure 155 mm long. Besides, you can choose 25 mm or 38 mm wide. The narrow tip starts the pocket, while the wide tip finishes it.
Why a blunt breast spatula
Blunt dissection follows natural planes. Consequently, bleeding stays low and the pocket edges stay smooth. Furthermore, that helps the implant sit evenly.
Typical procedures
Plastic surgeons use it in augmentation through fold, areolar or axillary incisions. It also helps in revision cases. Moreover, many keep both widths on the tray.
Technique
Slide the tip along the planned plane with the flat side down. Then sweep in gentle arcs. Moreover, check symmetry often by comparing both pockets.
Partner tools
A lighted retractor gives a clear view of the pocket. Meanwhile, a breast dissector handles firmer attachments. Together they speed up pocket creation.
