Description
Barraquer-Katzin (Colibri) Fixation Forceps, 1 x 2 Teeth
Meet the Barraquer Katzin Colibri forceps, a compact 7 cm tool for delicate corneal work. Its teeth, at 0.12 mm, follow a one-to-two layout. Because it is so short, your fingers sit right by the tip, and each move feels exact.
Two names, one tool
The name joins two figures known for corneal surgery. In practice, it marks a short Colibri forceps with fine teeth. So it suits work at the limbus and cornea, where space is tight.
Handling a 7 cm forceps
Short forceps sit inside the hand. Therefore, rest the heel of the hand on the patient’s cheek or brow. Then guide the tip with small finger moves rather than wrist turns.
- 7 cm length
- 0.12 mm one-to-two teeth
- Hummingbird-style angled tip
- Ships non-sterile
Fine teeth, light touch
The 0.12 mm teeth need only gentle pressure. Also, hold the very edge of the wound, so the bite stays small. If tissue slips, re-grip instead of squeezing harder.
Ultrasonic care for tiny teeth
Tiny teeth trap protein that bristles can skip. For this reason, follow brushing with an ultrasonic bath. Afterwards, rinse, dry, and inspect the teeth at high magnification.
Barraquer-Katzin among siblings
We stock Colibri forceps from 7 cm to 13 cm. The Barraquer Katzin Colibri forceps sits at the short end. If you like the same length with a different handle, compare the plain Barraquer version too.
