The Yasargil micro dissector is a fine instrument for dissection under the operating microscope. Neurosurgeons use it to separate small vessels, nerves and membranes where every movement counts.

Under high magnification, even a small tip looks large. Therefore, a micro dissector keeps its working end very fine. That lets the surgeon open narrow planes without disturbing nearby structures.

Where it fits

A micro set usually pairs this dissector with micro forceps, micro scissors and a knife. For example, the surgeon may develop a plane with the dissector and then cut a band with scissors. So it often stays in hand for long stretches.

Micro or standard dissector

If you already own a standard Yasargil dissector, the micro version adds a finer tip. On the other hand, a new set may start with one of each. Ask us, and we will suggest a combination.

Caring for your micro dissector

Micro tips bend easily, so handle this one on its own. First, rinse the micro dissector gently once surgery ends. Next, wipe the tip with a soft lint-free cloth. Once dry, sterilize it in a holder that keeps the tip free.
