Description
Yasargil Buttoned Probe
The Yasargil buttoned probe is a blunt microsurgical probe with a button tip. Surgeons use it to explore and gently separate tissue near vessels and nerves, where a sharp tip would be risky.
Why a button tip
A rounded button spreads pressure over a wider area. So the probe can push tissue aside without piercing it. That makes it useful for checking planes and feeling around structures under the microscope.
Size
We list one size, 18 cm. That length suits deep microsurgical work while keeping the hand away from the field. If you need the button diameter, contact us and we will check it.
Where it fits
The Yasargil buttoned probe sits alongside micro dissectors, hooks and knives. For example, a surgeon might use it to test a dissection plane before cutting. It also helps when checking around a clip after placement.
Choosing micro instruments
Many surgeons build their micro set around one pattern family, such as Yasargil. Then they add a probe, a few dissectors and a knife. Ask us for help putting a matching group together.
Caring for your Yasargil probe
Rinse the probe right after surgery, and wipe the button tip clean. Also check that the shaft stays straight. Once dry, place the probe in a micro tray for sterilizing so the shaft does not bend.
