Description
Toennis Needle Holder
The Toennis needle holder comes from the neurosurgical tray. At 18 cm, it balances reach and control for closing dura and scalp layers.
Built for neurosurgery
Slim jaws let you see the needle tip in a small opening. Also, the length keeps your fingers clear of your view. The Toennis needle holder feels light, so fine hand movements translate cleanly to the tip.
Two jaw options
Plain stainless jaws suit occasional use. By contrast, carbide inserts with the normal profile grip general sutures and last much longer. Gold handles identify the carbide model at a glance.
Ring handles and ratchet
Finger rings and a ratchet lock the needle in place. Then a light squeeze releases it once the pass is complete. So you can release and regrasp quickly during a running suture.
Where it fits
A craniotomy set may hold one Toennis needle holder for closure. Meanwhile, finer micro holders stay on the tray for vessel work. So this model covers the everyday suturing between those tasks.
Cleaning Toennis needle holder
Soak the holder briefly if blood has dried in the jaws. Next, open the ratchet and clean the box joint with a small brush. Then inspect the tips for gaps before each sterilization cycle.
