Description
Micro Spring Type Scissors
Micro spring scissors have spring handles that reopen the blades after each cut. They come in four lengths.
Four lengths
The 12 cm size suits surface work. Meanwhile, the 16 to 24 cm sizes reach deeper fields.
Straight or curved
Straight blades give a direct cut. By contrast, curved blades follow tissue planes.
Spring handles
The spring action keeps effort low. So your hand stays steady through long cases.
Choosing a length
Pick the shortest length that reaches the field comfortably. Because longer scissors magnify tremor, they need a braced hand. Then keep two lengths on the set so the surgeon can switch as the depth changes. In addition, the straight and curved options let you match the blade to the task. So one pattern covers several steps. For a first set, many teams choose a 16 cm straight and a 16 cm curved pair. Then they add the 20 or 24 cm lengths for deeper cases. As a result, the set grows with demand.
Reprocessing micro spring scissors
Close spring scissors only lightly during cleaning. Rinse, dry and keep them in a slotted micro rack.
