Magill Suction Tube

Description

Magill Suction Tube

The Magill suction tube clears blood and secretions with a medium bore. It handles more volume than the fine ear tubes.

Three diameters

We offer 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 mm. The 3.0 mm suits the nose and throat. Meanwhile, 4.0 mm moves thicker fluid quickly.

Where the Magill suction tube fits

ENT, oral and general surgeons use it. It also helps in airway work. Because the bore is larger, it resists blockage from clots.

Choosing a size

Pick the smallest size that keeps the field clear. A larger bore pulls harder. So match it to the tissue near the tip.

Handling

Hold it like a pencil and guide the tip just above the fluid. Then sweep it gently through the field. Also, flush between uses if it starts to clog.

Compared with finer tubes

Fine ear tubes clog quickly with thick blood. By contrast, the Magill bore keeps flowing. So many surgeons use it first to clear the field, then switch to a finer tip for detail.

Magill suction tube diameters

• Medium bore for higher flow
• Standard tubing connector

Cleaning

Flush water through the lumen right after use. Brush the bore, then rinse again. Dry it before sterilising.
