Luniatschek Gauze Packer

The Luniatschek gauze packer is an ENT instrument for pushing gauze strips into place. Clinicians use it to pack the nose, for example after surgery or to control bleeding.

How a gauze packer works

The clinician catches the gauze strip on the working end. Then they push it into the cavity, fold by fold. As a result, the packing sits evenly against the tissue.

Sizes and shapes

We offer 2 mm and 3 mm sizes. Each size also comes straight or curved, which gives four options. The curved shape may help you reach around a bend, while the straight shape gives a direct push.

Use alongside forceps

Some clinicians prefer bayonet forceps for packing. However, a packer lets you push gauze instead of gripping it. So many ENT sets hold both, and the clinician picks one at the time.

Caring for your Luniatschek gauze packer

Remove gauze fibers from the working end right after use. Then scrub the tip with a small brush under running water. Dry the packer thoroughly before sterilization.
