Description

Hoke Osteotome

The Hoke osteotome is a narrow, straight blade for small bone cuts. It suits the foot, the hand and other places where a wide tool would crowd the field.

Built for small bones

Michael Hoke worked on foot surgery, and this pattern reflects that need. The blade stays slim along its length, so it slips into a short incision. Also, a light tap with a small mallet moves it through thin cortex.

Five working widths

We list the Hoke pattern at 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9 mm. Then you can match the width to the bone in front of you. For example, 3 mm suits a phalanx, while 9 mm handles a metatarsal cut.

Choosing a Hoke osteotome set

Many surgeons keep three widths on one tray rather than a single blade. That way the cut can start narrow and widen if needed. In short, a small range saves a trip back to the store room. Pair the blades with a light mallet, since heavy blows are rarely needed on small bones.

Hoke osteotome sizes

  • Hoke blade widths of 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9 mm
  • Slim straight blade for short incisions
  • Stainless steel, cleaned and sterilized by your team before use

Looking after a narrow blade

Thin edges chip if they knock against other steel. So clean each blade on its own and dry it at once. Keep the set in a rack, and send any rolled edge for sharpening before the next list.

Aftercare in brief

Our Atlanta crew looks over the Hoke pattern in person before sealing the box. Every order gets three years against manufacturing defects across this osteotome by default. For a matching piece, browse our Mini-Lambotte pattern. Open our broad orthopedic catalog for similar items. For a primer on instrument steels, open ASTM F899. The buyer FAQ clears up common order questions. We are glad to help with sizing for new trays. A backup osteotome on standby helps on busy days.

Supplied for clinical use. Page images may not match every option. Also, surgical steel has nickel in it; open our cleaning and care notes for the full note. Return rules appear on the refund policy.
