The Gallaher file is a nasal file for rhinoplasty. Surgeons use it to smooth and fine-tune bone on the nasal dorsum after larger reductions.

A file removes very small amounts of bone with each pass. Therefore surgeons often reach for one at the end of a dorsal step. It helps blend edges so the profile looks and feels even.

Curved or straight

We offer this 16 cm file in a curved or a straight shape. The straight version follows the midline directly. In contrast, the curved version can follow the rounded sides of the nasal bones.

Where it fits in a case

First, the surgeon lowers the hump with an osteotome or rasp. Next, a file refines the surface. Finally, the surgeon checks the result by feel through the skin before closing.

Choosing a shape

Caring for your Gallaher file

Clean the file teeth soon after use with a firm brush. Also rinse it well, because detergent can stay in the grooves. Then dry it completely and sterilize.
